Objectives & Goals of the Course:-
Nomenclature of MPT Degree Course in 3 Specialties:-
Management Quota – 2 Seats
Management Quota – 2 Seats
& Pulmonary Management Quota – 2 Seats
Eligibility for Admissions:-
Candidates who have passed BPT Degree of Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences or equivalent Degree, and have completed Internship as on the date fixed by the University, are eligible to apply subject to fulfillment of the conditions stipulated in Regulations.
Candidates qualified from out of A.P. have to pay an amount of Rs.1,000/- and out of India have to pay an amount of Rs.5,000/- towards Degree Verification Fee, in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of “Registrar, Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences” payable at “Vijayawada” along with the filled in Application for Eligibility Certificate to MPT Course. Candidates should obtain the Eligibility Certificate before the last date for admission as notified by the University.
Registration:-
A candidate who has been admitted into the MPT course should register his/her name in the University within a month of admission, paying the Registration Fee prescribed by the University and submitting the Registration Form through the Principal of the College.
Admission Rules:-
All the candidates joining the Post-Graduate Degree Course should execute the Bond on a stamped paper of Rs.100/- value as prescribed in Annexure-I. They should complete the said course as per the requirements of this Institute. In the event of leaving the studies in the midterm each of them has to pay to the Registrar, Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, A.P., Vijayawada, a sum of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five thousand only/-).
Duration of the Course:-
The duration of the MPT course shall be Two (2) continuous years on fulltime basis.
Medium of Instruction:-
English will be the medium of instruction for the subjects of study and for the examinations of the MPT course.
Attendance:-
A candidate is required to attend a minimum of 85% of training and the total classes conducted during each academic year of the MPT course. Provided further, leave of any kind shall not be counted as part of academic term without prejudice to minimum of 85% of training period every year. Any student who fails to complete the course in this matter shall not be permitted to appear for the University Examinations with that batch.
Dissertation:-
Every candidate pursuing MPT course is required to carry out work on a selected research project under the guidance of a recognized Post-Graduate teacher. The results of such a work shall be submitted in the form of dissertation.

I-Year:- PAPER-I : BASIC SCIENCES
PAPER-II : BIO STATISTICS & RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
PAPER-III : PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC-I
PAPER-IV : PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC-II
II-Year:- PAPER-V : ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY AND
PATHOMECHANICS RELATED TO ELECTIVE
PAPER-VI : CLINICAL CONDITIONS – ELECTIVE
PAPER-VII : ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION – ELECTIVE
PAPER-VIII : PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION – ELECTIVE
All the papers carry 100 marks and the duration for the exam is 3 hours.
Dissertation has to be submitted 3 months prior to the commencement of the 2nd Year University examinations. Dissertation carries 100 marks.
Practicals & Viva:- The Practical & Viva examinations shall be conducted in the following subjects only.
I Year:- PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC-I – Practical – 100 marks and Orals – 50 marks
PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC-II – Practical – 100 marks and Orals – 50 marks
II Year:- PAPER-VII – ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION – ELECTIVE
Assessment & Evaluation – Elective
Practicals – 100 marks
(Long case-70 marks; time-45 minutes)
(Short case-30 marks; time-20 minutes)
Orals – 50 marks
PAPER-VIII – PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION – ELECTIVE
Physiotherapeutic Intervention – Elective
Practicals – 100 marks
(Long case-70 marks; time-45 minutes)
(Short case-30 marks; time-20 minutes)
Orals – 50 marks
Dissertation – Presentation and Orals – 100 marks
[50 marks for written work, 25 marks for presentation, 25 marks for orals]
Promotion Rules:-
Candidates appearing for II Year MPT exam shall clear all the I Year subjects. However, the candidate may be promoted to II Year but, will appear for II Year MPT exam only after passing all I Year MPT subjects. MPT course should be completed in 4 Years.
